Una Voce per Padre Pio
Padre Pio, was born in Pietrelcina, Italy in 1887, and was a beloved
priest canonized by Pope John Paul II in 2001.
He is classified as a modern day saint, having performed
numerous miracles, and has many documented "ecstasies" including stigmata, which were "edifying, theologically correct and expressed a deep love for God". "Una Voce per Padre Pio nel mondo" is a well-known event that has celebrated the life of Padre Pio in Pietrelcina (BN) Italy for the last thirteen years. As 2012 marks the 11th anniversary of his induction to sainthood, and the 125th anniversary of his birth, it will be the first time ONLUS has granted authority for its production outside of Italy.
Pio (Francesco Forgione) was born to Mamma Peppa and Grazio Forgione in the little town called Pietrelcina, in Southern Italy, during the month of flowers, May 25th 1887. He was fifth of eight children. His Mamma Peppa confided he was different from other boys: "he was never impolite or misbehaved". He had celestial visions and diabolical oppressions from the age of five years and he saw and spoke with Jesus and Our Lady and with his Guardian Angel, but unfortunately this heavenly life was interwoven with hell and with the devil.
